Welcome to the Isle of Sheppey u3a (IofS u3a)
The Isle of Sheppey u3a is now six years old. Being a relatively new u3a we are keen to grow our membership, be truly inclusive and engage in all manner of activities that will stimulate the mind and keep us fit and active.
We hold our monthly meetings on the fourth Thursday afternoon each month (except December, when it's the second Thursday) from 2-4pm (doors open 1.30pm) at the Sheppey Hall, Queenborough. More information about our meetings are on the events page and in our newsletters.
We currently have around 160 members enjoying several widely varied Group activities with more possible future starts. These range from Conversational French, Art, Scrabble, Crib to Wine Appreciation. Occasional pop up groups like board games are also on offer, there could be something for everyone.
New members are always welcome. Just come along to any meeting when our doors open or email us using the contact page. With the help of a very committed, enthusiastic Committee and a very keen, lively membership we are hoping to continue to attract many new members and expand our activities further.

u3a Radio Podcast
A new episode of the U3A Radio Podcast is uploaded on the 17th of each month on their YouTube Channel. u3a Radio Podcasts
We wish to support and encourage all activities that will meet a whole host of needs by offering a diverse range of topics and activities. We hope to develop a variety of opportunities on all levels for people with differing abilities. To do this we need our members to join with us to help suggest and organise new activities, so if you have some spare time and would like to become a bit more involved on an ad hoc basis please come and speak to one of the committee members to offer your services.

Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Statement
Isle of Sheppey u3a recognises that everyone is different and aims to create an environment that values and treats all members fairly. We are committed to promoting equality and diversity and to ensure that u3a membership is as accessible as possible to different groups within the community.
If you are interested in joining or would just like to visit to see what we are doing you are welcome to come along to our next meeting and meet our friendly group. Our Membership Secretary or other Committee member will be on hand to speak to you and give you further information.
u3a UK
The u3a gives members the opportunity to enjoy taking part in activities and interests and to meet new and friendly people. The u3a is aimed toward people who are no longer in full-time employment. This is the time when you can pursue your interests, increase your fitness, broaden your social life and make the most of life.
It's all voluntary - members share their knowledge and experience with others via interest groups - rather than pay people to teach, our members share their skills and talents with other members.
There are well over 1000 local u3a’s across the United Kingdom offering local activities for enthusiastic members. Members can also join in with national workshops, summer schools, educational events plus much, much more. Visit u3a Uk to find out more, or watch this short video
